A William III rosewood spoon back armchair. With padded back rest, seat and arm rests.
The beautifully grained rosewood top rail extends down to the arms and terminates with a carved scroll. The scroll arms show an elegantly carved foliate front which develops into the carved fore legs. The forelegs stand on later brass castors.
The chair is upholstered front and back in a light floral pattern and features rope twists and braiding.
This is an antique item of furniture and as such should be expected to show some age and character. That said this chair is generally in very good condition for age . The frame is rock solid and shows no movement in the joinery. The brass castors on the back legs have been removed. The braiding o the back of the chair has come loose (pictured).
