A Victorian antique walnut sheet music cabinet with glazed door. This is an interesting piece of furniture and it has a story to tell...The shelves are decoratively labelled as 'sacred', 'songs' and 'dance' and would have housed sheet music of those genres and so this piece would have originally come from a church.
The top is comprised of a quarter sawn walnut veneer with an absolutely stunning grain and patina. This is further embellished with decorative satinwood and ebony inlaid crest to match those on the champfered corners and the top of the glazed door. The top, door and corners also feature satinwood stringing. At the top of each champfered corner there is a brass mounted figurine.
The glazed door comes with a working lock and key and the cabinet stands on a plinth base. As can be seen in the pictures the back panel has been painted white.
This is an antique item of furniture and will show some age. There are some marks on the sides which can be seen in the pictures.
