A traditional style gate leg dining table with oval dining top (when extended). The table is constructed from English oak and features gadrooned carving around the edge. The two leaves are hinged to the top and are supported on the the retractable gate legs when in use. This type of table is ideal for smaller homes which still require an occasional dining space for up to eight people as when the leaves are let down the table can be pushed against a wall and used as a sideboard, taking up very little room. The base of the table is constructed from turned legs which are connected by stretchers.
This is an antique item of furniture and as such should be expected to show some age. That said this example is in good condition showing only light surface wear. The frame is solid as a rock although, as can be seen in the pictures, one of the leaves has a slight twist (not unusual for an item of this age).
Width 122cm - Height 70cm - Depth 45cm
Extension leaves add 57cm to the depth of the table EACH.
