A Victorian antique chest of three long drawers on turned feet. This item came to us from the BBC series 'Money For Nothing' due to air in July/August 2017 where the back story to this beautiful piece will be explained for all to see! The chest was rescued from a celebrity home and was worked one by three talented restorers to bring it back to its former glory. With three graduated drawers, each traditionally dovetailed, with turned wooden knobs inlaid with mother of pearl. It is likely that originally this would have been the lower portion of a chest on chest which has later been adapted and split into two chests. Therefore the top is an addition. The turned feet are not original but in keeping with the look of this stunning chest.
Following extensive restoration as part of the BBC series 'Money For Nothing' this chest is in very good condition. As an antique item of furniture it will have some quirks and character. The right side panel has been filled and recoloured and shows some heavy historical indentation. The feet do not look original but have been sympathetically matched.
