A set of six dining chairs plus two carver arm chairs.
Manufactured by the well known furniture company 'Jaycee' and dating from the late 20th Century the chairs are a reproduction of a Tudor antique style.
The frames are constructed from oak and finished with a dark stain and lacquer.
The back rest and seat pads are upholstered in thick, good quality, red leather fixed with stud work to secure. The carvers also have padded and upholstered arms to match.
The chairs stand on turned legs terminating in pad feet. The legs are joined by a turned cross stretcher across the front of the chair with square stretcher joining the fore and rear legs. A further square stretcher then joins the rear legs adding a great deal of strength to the chairs.
Looking underneath the seat we can see the webbing which support the seat pad and a quality control sticker from the original manufacturer, Jaycee.
These chairs are previously used and were probably manufactured around 30 years ago. Therefore one should expect them to show some age and character.
That said the chair frames are solid and show no movement in the joinery, a testament to the well regarded manufacturer 'Jaycee' who were known for producing high quality furniture.
The leather upholstery is certainly showing some age and is well worn and cracked in places although it is not worn 'through' and does lend a good deal of character to the set.
Finally there may be the odd dink and scuff to the oak frames from everyday use but nothing too significant.
The chairs are available to view in person on request. Please study the pictures carefully in order to ascertain condition. Feel free to contact us for any other questions about the condition of these chairs...
