A Georgian period drop flap bureau constructed from a rich mahogany. The drop flap opens and is supported on the two extendable rails with axe head brass pulls. This reveals a fitted desk interior with a bank of three small drawers flanking two pigeon holes which sit above a slightly larger drawer. There is a lockable central cabinet door which comes with the key supplied. The front of the drop flap features a beautiful flame mahogany grain.
Below the drop flap there are four graduated drawers, the top one being slightly narrower to accommodate the extending rails. All drawers are traditionally dovetailed and feature lions head ring pulls to match the larger drawers on the front of the bureau. The drawers also feature satinwood stringing to contract with the darker mahogany tones.
The bureau stands on ogee brack feet.
Please study the pictures supplied to ascertain condition. This is an antique Georgian item of furniture and as such will show some age. The bottom left drawer has been damaged. The front of the drop flap is showing some surface splitting to the right hand side. Otherwise the frame is solid showing no movement in the joinery and the drawers run smoothly.
