A George IV antique mahogany pedestal sideboard with raised gallery back. There is a central drawer flanked by two shorter drawers across the front. Often referred to as as buffet or serving counter which was traditionally placed in a dining room to position food before serving at the table.
The pedestal cabinets feature beautiful projected panels and are fitted with locks, accessed from the side. he left hand door opens to reveal a single deep drawer and in the right hand pedestal there is a shorter frieze drawer and bottle rack. All drawer are traditionally dovetailed.
The sideboard will come in three parts: the top and each pedestal, and fits together with screws from under the top.
This is an antique item of furniture and as such should be expected to show age and character. As can be seen in the pictures supplied there is a small piece of veneer chipped from one drawer front. The cupboard doors have rubbed along the base. One of the gadroon 'teeth' has been broken off at the base of the left hand door.
