An Edwardian antique single door wardrobe with a very unusual double hinged mirrored door. The top detaches just above the mirrored door and is secured on large dowels. The side panels have a beautifully grained quarter sawn mahogany veneer.
The door is very unusual in that it has locks to the left and right hand side. If the left lock is opened the door swing open like any standard wardrobe. However if both the left and right hand locks are open this allows the mirror to 'detach' from the front of the wardrobe and swing out on two arms which is handy if access in front of the wardrobe is restricted (which would not allow the door to swing fully open.
The interior is fitted with hooks around the top and traditional adjustable shelving notches. Although there are no shelves within some could be added later if required.
Below the mirror there is a single standard, dovetailed, drawer with turned wooden knobs. There is another concealed drawer below which is designed to look like the fixed plinth base which is a nice addition.
This is an antique item of furniture and will some age as would be expected. There are some flaws in the mirror and the odd dink here and there, please take a close look at the pictures to ascertain condition.
