An early Victorian walnut Davenport writing desk. The hinged lid is inlaid with tooled red leather and opens to reveal a satinwood interior with two small drawers. There is a bank of four drawers accessible from the right hand side with a small pen drawer which is hinged to sit alongside the writing pad. The beading on the drawer fronts is also applied to the left side of the davenport. The writing box is supported at the front on two beautiful barley twist pillars which run to the plinth base which has a recess foot space. The Davenport stands on original brass castors and comes supplied with a key.
There is a split across the lid. Some marks to the top behind the lid. One of the side drawers has had the lock removed.
