A Victorian antique mahogany side table with a large rectangular top. The top sits on a turned support which develops into tripod legs and brass castors.
There is a mechanism beneath the top which would have allowed the top to tilt into a vertical position but this has been fixed shut. It is fairly uncommon to find a tilt top table with a rectangular top like this and so I suspect the top and base are not original to each other, with that said the colour is a very good match so it is hard to tell.
As you can see in the pictures there are quite a few marks to the top over many years of use, as is fairly common with furniture this old.
This table would sit well in a living room to display portrait pictures, flowers or other decorative items.
